The jackpot is the largest possible win in a game or lottery, which usually accumulates from each new game or bet until someone wins it. In other words, the jackpot is the grand prize that can be won, for example, in a casino, lottery, slot machine, or online game. How does it work? Every time players place bets, a portion of the money is added to the jackpot. If no one wins, the jackpot grows. When someone wins, the jackpot resets or is returned to a minimum level.
Let's imagine:
-
5 players are playing a slot machine.
-
Each bets 10 UAH.
-
10% of each bet goes to the jackpot.
Calculation:
-
5 players × 10 UAH = 50 UAH — total amount of bets
-
10% of 50 UAH = 5 UAH — goes to the jackpot
No one won — the jackpot increases:
-
Last time the jackpot was 45 UAH
-
Now: 45 + 5 = 50 UAH
Next time, another 5 players placed bets:
- Another +5 UAH to the jackpot → now 55 UAH
One of the players wins:
- He receives the entire jackpot: 55 UAH
After the win:
- The jackpot resets (or returns to the starting amount, say, 10 UAH)
